possession of brute force does not a hero make...

my son once asked me (and he is a precocious one for a 6-year old), how can we best fight someone???

and one thing came to mind -- aesop's fables... they will definitely empower his mind to choose his battles and act accordingly... sun-tzu's art of war did come to mind -- but then again, he's only a child, no need to "keep his friends close, and his enemies closer...???" also, sometimes following those tactic/al books can do more harm than good...!

in this case, i would definitely prefer aesop any day... try reading "the wind and the sun" (circa 6th century b.c. by aesop) and you'll understand what i mean...

btw, on the upper left, inset of my personal heroes -- rob kampia -- formerly of norml (national organization to reform marijuana laws) and now chair for mpp.org (marijuana policy project) has nothing to do with my son's question, but he did cross my mind when i read the story to my son that day...

"...gentleness is much stronger than power or force..." everything can be won over by gentleness (respect, friends, a raise...!!!)... there is truth in this statement... and i guess, aesop must have been a marijuana advocate himself -- peace!
